This area of the space here concerns meeting the everyday “Beyond the Back Door“, by bicycle. Getting there by bike. Meeting by bike. Commuting by bike. Just riding.
There will be cross over between this and other parts of this space.
The Toxy. Full suspension short wheel base (SWB) recumbent. Wonderfully comfortable ride. A great road bike but I find the smaller wheels (20″) and gearing make it a little difficult in gravel, and it just didn’t work in the winter very well on our back roads.
The MetaBike. A SWB recumbent. 27.5″ (650b) wheels make it pretty good on our back roads. The wide, tubeless tires help. So does the mountain bike gearing.
The Kodiak by John Morciglio of Thundervolt (a recent addition) is intended to be my winter ride. As the photos indicate it has yet to be tested there. I am looking forward to winter!
